Dear brothers:
It is a pleasure to communicate with
you and wish you blessings in your earthly and spiritual lives.
My
name is Manuel Osvaldo Azucena Sánchez,
and I am married to Luz Elena Hernández
de Azucena, for two years. We
have a son, David Osvaldo who is one year old, and we live in
the city of Ahuachapan in the best part
of El Salvador. I have been working as a missionary for six years in
this part of the country, forming part of a 4 man missionary team we
call “Mission West“ who work in five different churches. For the
moment I watch over the church in Colonia
IVU in the city of Ahuachapan. I
collaborate with the other four churches as well.
Ministry Work
At
the moment I am the minister of the Church of Christ in Colony IVU
of the city of Ahuachapan. This church
began three years ago, product of our preaching as a missionary
team. I have been serving this church now for about a year and a
half, and we have had during this time twenty baptisms. Currently we
have 38 adults and 12 children. In addition to the weekly Sunday and
Wednesday services we also hold classes for the children and women,
as well as a committee of men who collaborate in the work of the
church. We also have an evangelism program of fellowship services in
homes of the brethren. We have implemented a program of benevolent
aid for the disadvantaged among us.
Missionary Work
As part of a Missionary Team our goal is to
establish and develop new churches. During seven years we have
worked towards that goal, harvesting very good fruit from our labor.
So far our fruit consists of six churches in the cities of:
Apaneca, Turin, Santa
Catarina, San Pedro,
Nahuizalco and Colony IVU. Between all
these there are three hundred members. We all work together in many
different activities, like seminaries and evangelism campaigns, as
well as enabling workers to inspire and encourage them towards the
task of preaching and congregational work. See the

My
request
Currently my family and I are being helped
financially by three Spanish churches from the south of California
and the Long Island Church of Christ in Long Island, New York.
These three churches are able to help
me with $600.00 on a monthly basis, $400.00 from California
and $200.00 from Long Island NY. My true monthly budget currently
reaches $1,000.00, which includes: rent, transportation, utilities,
and medical insurance for my family, food and other basic
necessities.
I’ve already seen myself in some dire
straights because my budget is not being met as much as I have been
able to cut corners but the Lord has seen me and my family through
them. I am hoping you are able to help me and my family
find more stability that I may continue
this work unfettered from worldly distraction.
