Missionary Work of Dear Brethren, well, another year has been placed in the history books, and we look forward to this new one with what I pray is a longing to spread the gospel to even more lost souls. Forgive me for the shortness of this update letter. Personal Study News: Since my last up-date letter I have not managed to start my next course with the “Open Bible School”. This in the main has been due to the other commitments of my tutor. These commitments have now been resolved, and I am pleased to say I’m now in possession of another new course. With the start of this New Year I hope to get going very soon. The result from the last unit in my last course finally arrived. The mark for my taped sermon was an “A” grade. The Final overall grade for that course again was an “A” grade. Again the Lord is guiding me. At present “8” brethren are studying with me. This has been a great encouragement to me personally as I can see the willingness of some to enlarge their personal knowledge of scripture. Also at present “1” non member is also studying with me. For this, I thank the Lord. Will keep you posted. I’m continuing to speak to people on the streets in my role within the police department about the Lord, leaving them with a study request card, and an invitation to church. As you are aware from previous updates I preach and teach at other congregations. Well a visit to one such congregation ended up with them requesting that I return this Sunday, the 6th to preach for them. Of course I gladly accepted the invitation. So this Sunday we will leave Summer Lane after the morning service where I am preaching and teaching to drive the 45minute journey to the city of “Leicester” to be with our brothers and sisters in Christ, where I will preach at 6pm. We have been invited for the day. We as a family are looking forward to this. Summer Lane News: We had a good gospel meeting on December 8th. We were visited by several congregations and the response was very positive. Even though we had no visitors, which brings sadness, I know we did all we could to get the message out to the lost souls of Birmingham. If you require any material from that meeting please let me know and I will see if it can be sent on to you. Our building work at Summer Lane is slowly continuing. Old unused class rooms are ready for use now. I managed to obtain some comfortable chairs from my place of work to place in one of these rooms. We purchased “50” plastic seating chairs for the second main worship area downstairs. This has meant we are able to get rid of some old style benches. We now can hold fellowship meals and not worry where to place these long benches, as we can just stack these chairs to one side. We have been so blessed with this on going, free labour work. There is a long way to go, but if the Lord wills the building will eventually look great. Most importantly, I know the need of those around the Summer Lane area. Men and women, who have not yet responded to the gospel, to this end I, will try my best to reach them with the Lords help this coming year. This coming year I pray that importance will be realised by us all. Again many other things have, and are taking place which I have not mentioned. In previous updates you have read of the blessings, not only personally, but for us all at Summer Lane. Yes, we have suffered also with some brethren leaving, walking away from the faith. But if we keep our eyes firmly fixed on the Lord, we will win! Can I personally thank all those of you who have supported me in one form or another this year? It’s been a great blessing to know you are there for me. If I have let any of you down, please forgive me. May this year bring you all great joy as we serve the creator of all things?
